About Us

In 2002 Jenny Green started using some Pilates exercises to help manage sacro-iliac pain from years of aerobics, paddling and running, that stretching and yoga had failed to relieve. Seeing immediate results from practicing Pilates Jenny wanted to share the benefits with others and Bodywise Pilates came into being.

Meet the team:

Jenny Green
Certified by the Pilates Institute UK and Stott Pilates (Canada), Jenny has more than 18 years of experience in the fitness industry both in New Zealand and in the UK. She holds a BBS in Sport Management and Coaching from Massey, is an AIT and Network Certified Personal Trainer, and is an established member of Bodywise personal fitness trainers.

Ginnene Harvey-Lovell

Ginnene was first introduced to the Pilates Technique when she was studying for her dance degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK. After graduating with a BA (Hons), she continued her interest in Pilates as a teacher of Dance and Choreography and is certified with the Pilates Institute UK and the Pilates Institute of Australasia.
She is passionate about Pilates, with a special interest in women’s health - she particularly enjoys working with pre and post natal clients. That’s not to say she’s sexist, though - she’s also made Pilates for Blokes a big success.

Gaynor Wilkie
Gaynor has been teaching yoga for 12 years, and since gaining certification from The Pilates Institute UK, has enjoyed the new challenges of adding Pilates to her training portfolio. With an eye for detail, she’s an encouraging trainer who loves working closely with clients to help them to success.

Mirka Field
Originally from the Czech Republic, Mirka joined Bodywise after completing her Pilates International Certificate in Sydney. Her particular focus in teaching concentrates on precision and quality of movement, and her enthusiasm is infectious.

Catherine Pettifor
Catherine has been teaching Pilates in the UK since 2001. She gained her qualifications to instruct from Body Control UK. She has worked in a number of Health Clubs, Pilates Studios and Physiotherapy Centres and has instructed a varied and interesting client base.
She will always have a passion for Pilates because it can be so eclectic and individual, she strongly believes that everyone can gain from it.

Wendy Vermeulen
After more than 19 years in the exercise business Wendy is still passionate about fitness and wellbeing. It is an industry that is constantly changing and growing just like we all are. Pilates and Yoga are systems that offer physical training while involving your mind and giving you a time of focus in your day. Wendy strongly believes in the benefits of these systems, this is why she loves her job!
