Bodywise Pilates team leader is Jenny Green. In 2002 Jenny started using some Pilates exercises to help manage her sacro-iliac pain from years of aerobics, paddling and running that stretching and yoga had failed to relieve. Seeing the immediate results from practicing Pilates Jenny wanted to share the benefits with others and that is when Bodywise Pilates was created.

Phoebe Heyhoe

Phoebe started her career as a professional contemporary dancer and found Pilates through her art form. She then trained as an instructor and began working full time around Auckland for over 7 years. Phoebe has seen clients with extremely varied issues and really enjoys the challenge of creating classes to suit individuals needs. The thing she loves most about Pilates is that it encourages you to go beyond your daily range of movement. This keeps joints alive, muscles active, and teaches you which muscles you should be activating, and when. It's invaluable body knowledge that you can apply to any area of your life. Phoebe founded MatWorks Pilates in early 2015 and is looking forward to the new challenge of running Bodywise Pilates and becoming apart of the Bodywise family. 

Katie Quirke

Katie is a trained dancer and dance teacher and has spent 7 years working in dance schools and education in London. She got a taste for Pilates when she joined a class at her local gym and was inspired to teach it herself, she completed the Advanced Mat certification with Future Fit Pilates UK, before returning to NZ. As a dancer Katie enjoys the wide range of pilates exercises both for flexibiity and mobillity and also for their effect in toning and strengthening her core area. She has a Bachalor of Arts Honours Degree in Dance Education with the Royal Academy of Dance and continues to up skill her Pilates training her in New Zealand.

Liz Brookes

Liz shares over 20 years of mind-body movement practices with all her clients. She is a trained BASI (Body Arts & Science Institute) Comprehensive Apparatus Pilates Instructor, has a Diploma in Slings Myofascial Training™ (Art of Motion), a trained Shin Somatics® Yoga Teacher and has many other related certifications. She regularly attends with great passion various ongoing continuing education workshops in Pilates, Yoga and other movement methods. Liz comes from a creative and dance background and after living with breathing disorders, a chronic spinal injury and work stresses she discovered Pilates as an alternative method of rehabilitation, mind & body awareness and conditioning. She loves the way Pilates educates the body to think for itself and become an 'inner teacher' bringing calm, enjoyment and physical well-being to all aspects of life.

Asho Gevorgyan

Practicing meditation and movement therapy has been a 25 year commitment for Asho. She has always had a passion for dance and a foundation in design and architecture, but with shoulder, knee and back injuries she was able to use Pilates and Yoga and Chi-Kung to heal herself. In 2004 she completed her formal training with Edna Levy Katz and feeling so inspired became an instructor immediately. Her work and practice consist of Pilates Yoga and Chi-Kung and is fuelled by a fascination to explore how movement effects our well being.

Alicia Mitchell

Alicia is a Polestar and Stott Pilates trained instructor and is a graduate from The New Zealand School of Dance, Wellington, majoring in contemporary and classical dance. After graduating from The NZSD and completing tertiary training Alicia has performed, travelled throughout Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand. Alicia is still involved in teaching dance, adjudicating and tutoring seminars nationally, choreographing and teaching solo works for competitions. Alicia is passionate about Pilates with benefits gained over 13 years, strength and flexibility have helped her as a professional dancer. Pilates has helped maintain a fit, flexible and strong body and she hopes to inspire, motivate, provide an enjoyable and challenging workout with an emphasis on correct alignment, posture and technique and most of all encourage you to be as passionate about Pilates as she is.

Gaby Sanchez

Gaby was born in Argentina and has studied Classical and Contemporary dance to be a teacher. She graduated in Buenos Aires as a Physical Education teacher specialising in health pathology. Over the last 10 years, she has taught classes for all ages and levels at various studios, with a background in Latin Rhythms, Contemporary, Latin Hip Hop, Tango and Brazilian dances. She loves to dance and takes classes at every chance she gets. "No matter how old you are or how much experience you have, you can always learn more".

Rachael Knox

Rachael is a STOTT PILATES Trained Instructor in Matwork,Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, all up to an advanced level. Rachael practised Pilates for over 10 years before deciding to teach and share her knowledge and passion for Pilates with others. An experienced Pilates Instructor with an eye for detail, Rachael motivates and encourages clients to get the most out of their classes with a focus on posture and technique. She is also a Flute Teacher and Principal Flute of Auckland Symphony Orchestra. Rachael’s passion for Pilates shines through in every class, so come join her for fun, energizing and challenging classes suitable for everyone.
